In Tokyo Miroku-den, a statue made from 2000 pieces of wood assembled together is open to the public.This is the largest wooden Miroku statue of its kind in the world.He sits on an octagonal plinth that represents the 8 directions, which encompass the whole world. He holds the earth in his hand to signify our wish for the world to live in peace as one family.
